Our Ministries
The Altar Guild
Members of the Altar Guild have special roles to serve in our historic church and traditional liturgy. They prepare us for worship and care for vestments, silver, linens and other furnishings. Commitment is generally one Sunday per month, about 45 minutes before the service and 20 minutes after. In addition, members participate in parish clean-up days in the spring and fall. We welcome both men and women to the altar guild and train all new members. If you are interested in serving on the Altar Guild, please contact Raja Reed .

The Urban Necessities Project, a ministry of St. Mary's, St. Augustine's, and Grace and Holy Trinity Cathedral, is a collaborative effort to serve the City Center community in Kansas City. Members of The Project seek to fulfill a need within the community to provide basic non-food items for individuals and families such as toiletries and household necessities. Through grants from the Deanery, we provide a sustainable service that seeks to engage all members of our parish communities as we come together on behalf of the individuals in our city who need our help. You can find more specifics in our weekly newsletter (available under the News header of our website) about the items we collect to support The Project’s mission. St. Mary's volunteers distribute the items once-per-month in conjunction with Downtown Outreach.  Contact Project Manager, Jen Dean, for more information, or if you are interested in volunteering.

The St. George Choristers
Named after one of our patron Saints, the St. George Choristers enrich our liturgies on Sundays and other major feasts throughout the year with their beautiful music. New voices always welcome! If you are interested in joining your voice to theirs, please contact the Choirmaster Dr. Tony Maglione

St. Mary's Belles
The St. Mary's Belles are a welcoming group of the women of the parish. We are social in nature, usually meeting monthly on a weekday.  Events have included book discussions, sharing a meal together, or sharing tea and a light meal at a member's home.   If you're interested in learning more about the St> Mary's Belles, please contact Bonnie Haupt.

The Acolyte Guild
Members of the Acolyte guild have a very important role in our liturgies here at St. Mary's. They assist the clergy in leading the people in worship through their service to our Lord at the Holy Altar.  Adults, and Children who are in 3rd grade or older are eligible to serve as acolytes. If you or your child is interested in serving our Lord in this way, please contact David Wilcox

The Lector Guild
Members of the lector guild assist in the proclamation of the Word of God at the celebration of the liturgy, through  reading of Scripture. If you would be interested in reading at the liturgy, please contact David Wilcox

The Guild of All Souls
The Guild of All Souls, is a Prayer Guild within the worldwide Anglican Communion which seeks to promote the Church's teaching in regard to the Faithful Departed through Intercessory prayer for the Dying and for the Repose of the Souls of the Departed; the Guild encourages Christian customs at burial, especially the offering of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, and promotes the two great doctrines of the Christian Creed: The Communion of Saints and The Resurrection from the Dead. At St. Mary's the Guild meets periodically for a Requiem Mass and fellowship. If you are interested in the Guild of All Souls, please contact Fr. Charles.

To the Glory of God and in honor of the Blessed Virgin Mary

St. Mary's is a a parish of the Diocese of West Missouri, The Episcopal Church, and the Anglican Communion.
