Mrs. Sharon Hunter-Putsch
Sr. Warden
I have been at St. Mary’s since 2008, having returned to Kansas City after 25 years on the East coast. My husband, Henry Putsch and I joined after visiting Episcopal churches in our area. Our choice was made based on St. Mary’s diversity, a female priest, and Downtown Outreach. I have served on the Vestry the past three years with Father Charles Everson and Father Patrick Perkins and in previous years with Mother Lauren Lyon, participating on various committees and primarily in the administration of Downtown Outreach. I continue to participate in DTO, when the St. Mary’s team is volunteering, once a month, or when I am needed. There has been positive growth through the past ten years, and most has involved the ongoing a maintenance of an historic building, steady growth of the congregation and achievement of financial stability. I feel called to serve St. Mary’s in order to share my experience in leadership, art and design, and to give back to the church community for all of the support and love it has offered over the past few years.
I currently teach drawing and painting for the Kansas City Art Institute, Professional and Continuing Education. I continue to paint my Family Heirloom commissions, creating large oil pieces (4’x6) as lasting memories from old family photos, along with watercolor collages.
